Roatan Honduras-real estate investment tour

-Discovery/Investment Tour-
As some of you may know one of our consultants, Janine Goben, who started
with us last year, has actually been on the island longer than I. She was
one of the originals at the premiere community of Lawson Rock, and also
operated as the chief representative of the marketing and tour organization
"International Living". She will be doing a Discovery and Investment tour
again this August here on the island. It basically is a group type, non
pressure setting, in which we invite guest speakers and professionals to
make presentations for the participants. These often include local
attorneys, health/travel/title insurance representatives, ex pats and an
opportunity for you to get a guided tour of the island from one end to the
other.

For those who have never or seldom traveled this area, it is a great way to
find out if Roatan may be a place for you. We will arrange everything on
the ground for your tour - a great place to stay, airport transfers, tours,
get-togethers, seminars and orientation. It¹s an easy-going educational
schedule, informative speakers, Sign up today!. Need more
info? Write us and ask.

Baby Boomers - Moving Offshore

My last Blog encouraged any and all "Baby Boomers" out there to investigate the possibility of retiring abroad. Fact of the matter is it may or may not be for you.

Some people never move past their own neighborhoods their entire lives. The alway wish to be in their "comfort zones". That is fine for some, not so for others. There thenis the group that do what many of their parents did, that being make it as far as Florida or Arizona each winter. That also is fine, for them.

For me and millions of others there are desires, and needs, to push the envelope a bit further. Financially there can be large advantages. I think the greatest majority desire adventure. For some that may be challenging the expressway to get to the nearest music festival. For others it may mean finding another country that offers "new. By "new" I mean "NEW". New climate, new culture, new foods, new adventure,......."NEW". Most have spent 40 years + doing what they were supposed to do. Plenty of ups and downs and challenges. Raising children, caring for elderly parents, and driving down the road of life with all it's curves, bumps and accidents.

The internet is an amazing source of information. Most have anywhere from a year to several before you are scheduled in your own mind to retire. Investigate the possibilities the world has to offer.

Now it is time for you! Life is short, live it!

Specific reasons for moving off-shore............... next blog.

Roatan Honduras - retirement real estate in the Caribbean-the great escape-Baby Boomers

If you are just starting to follow my blog you may wish to start on the one just previous to this. If you want more depth and detail there are several before that. In the past blog, dated April , 2009, I gave a bit of an overview of the island. In several of the posts predating that I gave some reasons why Roatan should be on your radar screen if you are a "Baby Boomer".

Fact of the matter is that "Baby Boomers" the thousands each day that have been retiring for the last three years and will be for the next twelve. We all have some very tough decisions ahead. In many respects we are the trail blazers. The "hippies", the generation that "colored outside the lines". When we were in grammar school there was no room for us. High school much the same. Colleges and Universities exploded at the seams. Vietnam, protests, environmental movements, womens rights, the computer,................... In the 70's the government "borrowed" our Social Security benefits. To date they are still "borrowed". With the current economic crisis and huge dept coming at us, our children and grand children chances are slim funds will be there for this huge group now looking at retirement on the horizon. I certainly am no economist but I am pretty sure that printing more money will be the only way out. That of course will have us relive the late 70's, early 80's scarred with large doses of inflation and devaluation.

I guess the question for us millions is where do we go from here. Most of us just lost about half of the savings we did have in the market turndown, have a major round of tax increases, money devaluation and possible health challenges ahead of us.

If you are not investigating living off shore somewhere you certainly should be. I have lived offshore for ten years now. I hope that I can share some of the possible advantages with all that take the time to read. My thoughts are that it may be a way for many to not only revisit the spirit that had in the 60's and 70's but also have the possible key to stretching the dollars you do have.

Roatan Honduras Boomers -New Retirement alternative

Roatan? Where is that?

We used to hear that a lot. Now not so much, but still on occasion. For those not familiar Roatan is an island in the far Western Caribbean which is one of 62 cays and islands of the "Bay Islands" of Honduras.

Historically British in culture the mid 1800's in a treaty between Spain and England they went to Spain.

Until 1991 they were of little interest to Honduras. Even then of minimal interest. To the country Honduras itself they really were a place where English speaking Anglo, Blacks and a few of Payan Indian culture lived, mainly in the shrimp, lobster and fishing business.

1991 brought a change to the constitution that allowed for foreign ownership of land. They the Bay Islands were "discovered". Foreiners started to invest, cruise ships started to trickle in and what was a remote location for avid divers on the second largest coral barrier reef in the world started on it's way to beingfound by the rest of the world.

White powder sand beaches, aqua blue, warm waters, English speaking, democratic government, friendly people, ......it had all the pieces of the puzzle.

If you are looking for that place that the Wall Street Journal ha called the "next 'it' spot in the Caribbean, you just found it. Drop me a note with specific questiona or follow my blog and get more details on this spectacular location.
